Geetha Biotech is a biomass briquette manufacturer. Geetha Biotech is the brainchild of Mr Velayudhan. The idea to form Geetha Biotech materialized while Mr Velayudhan was finding useful ways of utilizing sawdust. Heaps of sawdust always went to waste. Burning the collected sawdust was the only means of eliminating it.

But, burning sawdust is not an apt solution as this leads to an increase in  pollution levels. Further, neighbors of sawmills are not tolerant to burning sawdust.

On similar lines, agriculture waste too, was never utilized productively. Coffee husks and groundnut husks were burnt without it serving any useful purpose.

Mr Velayudhan spent quality time in researching on the subject of biomass briquettes, and eventually decided to set up Geetha Biotech.

It seemed best to Mr Velayudhan that he seek a way to extract energy from the waste than fight with the sawmill owner about the burning of sawdust. Mr Velayudhan was of the belief that sawdust had great potential. He knew that if he could formulate a watertight plan then the idea would fetch him great monetary returns.

He researched and studied the techniques that the Japanese used to produce biomass briquettes. Likewise, he also analyzed the machinery that they used in the production of quality biomass briquettes.

Subsequently, after having completed the groundwork, he gained confidence in the potential that the idea had in store. Mr Velayudhan, backed by his research data decided to become a biomass briquette manufacturer. He made the necessary investments in setting up the machinery to produce quality biomass briquettes.

It was in the year 2008 that Geetha Biotech became a biomass briquette manufacturer. Geetha Biotech started operations with 5 employees. Today, the employee strength has grown ten times. The daily production of briquettes now stands at 50 tonnes  per day.

Geetha Biotech labels, quality tests, packages, and transports the produced biomass briquettes to its customers. Geetha Biotech has multitudes of customers in its fold and the briquettes are shipped to them directly. Geetha Biotech’s customer count is on the rise, and numerous customers are being added to their existing list on a daily basis.

Geetha Biotech believes that biomass briquettes are in great demand because their customers are working greatly towards reducing their respective carbon footprints.

Geetha Biotech is determined in satisfying customers’ requirements to the fullest. Accordingly, a great amount of time, effort, and investment has gone into improvising and increasing the quality of the briquettes.
